Christmas Treasure Hunt

ENTRIES NOW CLOSED

Saturday 19th December 2020 – It’s that time of year again when we generally get together at Christmas.

This year we can’t have our Christmas handicap race and so I’m arranging a treasure hunt around the park to fit in with Covid requirements.

If you’d like to join us sign up individually using the form below and we will then be put into a group of 6 to run socially distanced, around the park and find some Christmas titles.

This is a great social occasion and gives you the opportunity to make some new friends. We haven’t had a lot of socials this year and I hope this will be a lot of fun and a great way of meeting up with some old friends and meeting some of our new members.

We might even be able to rustle us some mince pies and Christmas coffees/ hot chocolates afterwards.

Any question please email saminks@icloud.com

Runners’ Instructions for Covid Treasure Hunt

Your job is to find and write down the titles of 6 Christmas songs.
So as to make sure you have physically found the words there is a code under each word, a number and a letter and you have to find them and write them down under each word on your clipboard.
Eg
A Christmas Carol
F3 G4 E5
Do not split up your group, or send the fast ones along to do all the work or your team will be disqualified.
There is a special route around the park with teams separated by 3-minute intervals. We do not want you to meet the other teams.
You may run in pairs 2m apart within your teams.

Find the Christmas Song title and there will be a volunteer nearby and they will give you another clue as to where to go next.
There are 6 Song titles to find and you must write them down on your sheet with the codes. You then run back as quickly as possible to the Hockey Centre in order to get your finishing time and have coffee.
Kath or Sally will give you a start and finish time.

Good luck and a Merry Covid Christmas
Sally X

We will be starting on the field near the Hockey pitches

Cancelled – Christmas Day Hills

Cancelled

It is a tradition within the club on Christmas Day for those runners who can to aim to run 25 hills in Trent Park
The hills are off the blind trail, on the three hill pendulum
The aim start time is 9 am onwards
If you wish to celebrate after then bring along a mince pie and drink to have after sitting outside the cafe
All done at your own pace and have a blue sky goal of the 25 hills (there is no requirement to complete all 25 hills).
This is not an organised training session and just a bit of fun to make extra room for your Christmas Lunch. If you are coming along please follow the government guidelines on social distancing and outdoor activities. Therefore, no more than 6 in a group and move to another hill if one is in use.
