“The Nightcap” Handicap
May 2021 – 20/5/2021

The first time we have done a mid-week handicap with our new The Nightcap series. Ran the same course as we have been using for The Plank series and the same format, with an individual start. However, this race has no on the course marshal and just a minimal crew at the start and finish as if we needed a complete team we simply would not be able to put this on. Therefore, the course is marked with larger yellow signs with added luminous tape.

Was rather concerned throughout the day as the wind and rain were terrible.  However, the rain held off just giving the runners a strong crosswind to deal with along the pineapple, good job they only run up it once.

28 runners made it to the start with the fastest man being Luke Barker in 17:38, followed by a strong contingent of the sub-20 boys, before the first lady, Kat Alpe came in 7th in 20:19, shaving a second of her own ladies course record.
